Totem Quilt Pattern (PDF Download)
A textured racing stripe was what I had in mind when I designed my Totem quilt pattern. I was drawn to the idea of a vertical sampler, because of all of the directions you could take it.
For the cover project, I stuck with mostly a red/orange/flame vs white/cream/gray palette, but I can see many other versions that play with contrast work, color play, and/or print scale. This project is the perfect canvas for playing with new ideas to make it your own!
project size : 44 1/2″ x 30″ (+ 3 other size options)
fat quarter friendly : I used all kinds of fun stuff in my cover project:
+ Kona flame, tangerine, carrot, coral, snow
+ Essex Ivory
+ the gray, tangerine, and white crosshatches, ledger, and text prints from Architextures
+ the white stem print from Botanics
techniques : beginner paper / foundation piecing, basic piecing
pattern extras : how-to instructions with illustrations, suggested quilting diagrams, directions for making a hanging sleeve
